The Falcon 005161-000 is the OEM ANSI Strike for the Falcon T Series Grade 1 cylindrical lock, documented in the Falcon T Series Parts Manual. The strike dimensions are 1-1/4 inches wide by 4-7/8 inches high, square corner, with a 7/8 inch lip length. It ships without a dust box. Finish must be specified at time of order. The 005161-000 is listed as the standard strike across all 24 Falcon T Series function variants, from T101 (Passage) through T881-IC (Electrified Storeroom, Fail Secure with Interchangeable Core). Available (3-4 weeks).

The 005161-000 is the standard ANSI strike for the T Series, not the T-Strike or Full Lip options that are listed as alternates in the Falcon T Series catalog. Confirm the frame preparation and door stop geometry before ordering, as alternate lip lengths are available in the T Series strike family when the 7/8 inch lip does not match the installed frame profile.

What the ANSI Strike Does in a Falcon T Series Cylindrical Lock Installation

The ANSI strike is the frame-mounted component that receives the latch bolt when the door closes. The 005161-000 has three distinct sections. The keeper is the rectangular opening cut through the strike face that allows the spring latch bolt to fully extend into the frame when the door is in the closed position. The lip is the angled or curved extension that runs from the keeper toward the door face, providing a ramp that guides the latch bolt tip over the strike plate as the door swings into the closed position. The face plate is the flat perimeter surface that mounts flush with the door frame face and is secured to the frame by wood or machine screws into the frame pocket.

The 7/8 inch lip on the 005161-000 is the distance from the center of the keeper to the end of the lip. This dimension is determined by the door stop setback on the installed frame. When the door stop sits close to the latch bolt exit point, a shorter lip such as 7/8 inch is correct. When the stop is set further back, a longer lip is needed to bridge the gap and guide the bolt cleanly into the keeper. Ordering the wrong lip length results in a strike that either misses the latch bolt as the door closes or interferes with door swing clearance.

Falcon 005161-000 Strike: T Series Function Coverage and Finish Options

The 005161-000 appears in the Strikes and Dust Boxes section of the parts diagram for every T Series function. Functions covered include T101 (Passage), T291 (Hospital Privacy), T301 (Privacy), T351 (Closet), T381 (Classroom Security), T411 (Asylum), T501 (Entry), T511 (Entry/Office), T521 (Office), T561 (Classroom), T571 (Dormitory), T581 (Storeroom), T851 (Electrified Storeroom, Fail Safe), and T881 (Electrified Storeroom, Fail Secure). All 14 functions are available in both standard cylinder and IC (Interchangeable Core) variants, bringing the total to 24 function configurations served by one strike part number.

Eight finishes are available for the 005161-000: 605 (Bright Brass), 606 (Satin Brass), 613 (Oil Rubbed Bronze), 619 (Satin Nickel), 622 (Powder-Coated Matte Black), 625 (Bright Chrome), 626 (Satin Chrome), and 643E (Aged Bronze). The finish of the strike must match the installed lever and rose finish to maintain a consistent appearance across the door hardware assembly. Finish must be specified at time of order.

Falcon Cylindrical Lock Strike: T Series Platform Specifications

The Falcon T Series is certified to ANSI/BHMA A156.2, Series 4000, Grade 1 and is UL Listed for 3-hour A label fire doors. The standard backset is 2-3/4 inches, with a 2-3/8 inch backset option available. Standard door thickness compatibility is 1-3/4 inches to 2-1/8 inches. The standard latch for keyed T Series functions is a deadlocking deadlatch with a 2-3/4 inch backset, 1-1/8 inch by 2-1/4 inch square corner face. The 005161-000 ANSI strike is dimensioned to match this standard latch configuration, with the keeper opening sized to receive the 1/2 inch latch bolt projection when the door closes.

The T Series also offers an optional T-Strike and a Full Lip strike as documented alternates in the Falcon T Series catalog. The 005161-000 is the standard configuration shipped with the factory default T Series lock unless an alternate strike is specified at order.
