The LCN 9560-3454 is the OEM motor gearbox for the 9560 Series Senior Swing electromechanical door operator. It's the drive mechanism that physically opens the door leaf - the motor and gearbox assembly converts electrical input from the control box into the rotational output that moves the operator arm and swings the door. When the motor gearbox fails on a 9560 installation, the operator loses all powered opening function. The door reverts to manual-only operation, which on an ADA-required accessible entry removes the accessibility compliance the operator was installed to provide.

This is a handed part - specify LH (left hand) or RH (right hand) when ordering. The 9560-3454 delivers 15 lbs of opening force, which is the standard force configuration. The reduced force version (9560-3454RF) provides 11 lbs for applications with lighter door weights or specific force requirements. Confirm both handing and force requirement against the installed unit before ordering.

LCN 9560 Series Independent Pair Door Operator: What This Gearbox Drives

The 9560 is LCN's surface-mounted Senior Swing operator for independent double door applications. This is a critical distinction within the Senior Swing family. The 9540 operates a single door (push side). The 9550 operates a simultaneous pair - both leaves open and close together as one synchronized movement. The 9560 operates an independent pair - each leaf operates with its own separate motor gearbox, control box, and arm assembly, and each door can be activated and timed independently of the other. That independence is what the 9560-3454 motor gearbox enables: one gearbox per leaf.

The 9560 Series ships as a complete system with two motor gearboxes (one per leaf), two control boxes, arms, a header, and mounting hardware. The 9560-3454 is the field replacement when one motor gearbox fails and the complete operator assembly doesn't need replacement.

LCN Motor Gearbox Specifications and Senior Swing System Context

The 9560 control box runs on 120VAC at 2.5 amps with a time-delay fuse, feeding the motor gearbox at low voltage through the internal control circuitry. The control box manages all timing and sequential door functions including opening speed, closing speed, hold open delay (adjustable 1 to 32 seconds), and power boost. The motor gearbox executes those commands by driving the operator arm assembly - main arm (9560-77) with linkage rod extending to the door - to swing the leaf to full open and return it to closed.

The Push 'N Go feature on the 9560 Series allows a pedestrian to manually push the door open approximately 5 degrees, at which point the motor gearbox activates and drives the door to full open automatically. This combined manual-automatic function is what makes the Senior Swing a two-in-one operator - powered for ADA-required automatic activation, manual for regular traffic. The motor gearbox must be functioning correctly for Push 'N Go to work; a worn or failed gearbox will either fail to engage on manual push or stop mid-swing.

LCN Auto Door Operator Parts: 9560 Series Compatibility Notes

The 3454 motor gearbox part number appears across the entire LCN Senior Swing surface-mounted operator family with the series prefix changing: 9530-3454 (single door, pull side), 9540-3454 (single door, push side), 9550-3454 (simultaneous pair), 9560-3454 (independent pair). They are not interchangeable across series - the arm interface, mounting geometry, and control box wiring differ between series. Always match the gearbox to the specific series installed.

The 9560 Series meets ANSI/BHMA A156.19 for low-energy power-operated doors, is ADA compliant, ANSI A117.1 accessible, UL325 and UL228 listed, and rated to meet the Buy American Act (BAA) requirement.
