The Von Duprin 050819 is the OEM hardware kit for the 6400 series modular electric strike. It contains the strike mounting tab and seven 12-24 tamper-resistant screws with a security driver bit, the exact fastener set required for standard mounting and mounting tab configurations on the 6400 strike body. When the original mounting hardware is lost, stripped, or damaged during a service call, this kit gets the 6400 back in the frame without hunting for individual fasteners across different suppliers.
This is a non-finished part ordered for function, not aesthetics. It ships as a hardware-only kit with no strike body, no faceplate, and no electrical components included.
What Is the Von Duprin 6400 Electric Strike?
The Von Duprin 6400 is a Grade 1 modular electric strike built for mortise and cylindrical locks on single doors in hollow metal, aluminum, or wood frames. It's the most configurable strike in the Von Duprin lineup because the deadbolt keeper, deadlatch ramp, and plug can each be repositioned or removed anywhere within the 3-1/8 inch vertical opening. That means a single 6400 body covers an unusually wide range of latch positions across different mortise and cylindrical locksets, including those with offset latches that would require a completely different strike from most competitors.
On top of vertical adjustability, the 6400 offers up to 1/8 inch of horizontal adjustment in the frame, which makes it the right call on tight door preps and slightly misaligned frames where a fixed-position strike would require shimming or frame modification. Combined, these two adjustment axes make it the go-to strike for service techs working on retrofit applications or new construction with inconsistent frame tolerances.
Von Duprin 6400 Series Technical Specifications
The 6400 runs on field-selectable voltage: 12 or 24 VDC continuously, or 12 to 24 VAC on intermittent duty, switchable without a converter kit. Current draw is 0.375 amps at 12 VDC and 0.190 amps at 24 VDC. The internal solenoid design keeps the keeper from heating up, which matters on high-traffic access points where the strike activates dozens of times per hour. Static holding strength is 1,500 lbs and dynamic impact resistance is 70 ft-lbs.
The 6400 is 3-hour fire-rated to UL 10C as a fail-secure-only solution, which means it's qualified for fire-rated openings but is not available in fail-safe configuration. It carries UL 1034 for burglary-resistant electric door strikes, UL 294 for access control systems, ANSI/BHMA A156.31 Grade 1, CSFM listing, and is tested to over 2,000,000 endurance cycles. The faceplate is 4-7/8 inches long and the backbox depth is 1-3/4 inches. Two faceplates ship with every 6400 unit: one for centerline locks and one for offset locks.
An optional plug-in latchbolt monitor (LM6400) can be added in the field at any time after installation without opening the strike or re-wiring, using the built-in NO/NC/C latch monitor connections. The wiring kit for the latch monitor uses black for common, blue for normally closed, and orange for normally open.
When to Order the 050819 Hardware Kit
Order this kit when you're servicing or reinstalling an existing Von Duprin 6400 and the mounting tab or tamper-resistant screws are missing, damaged, or rounded out. It's also the right part to stock if you manage facilities that run the 6400 across multiple access points and want a replacement fastener set on the shelf before a service call requires it.
For the related Von Duprin electric strike series, SecurityParts also stocks parts for the 6200 series, 6300 series, and the 5100 and 6100 families. If your project also involves panic hardware, the full catalog of Von Duprin exit device parts is available here as well. For access control openings that combine an electric strike with a mortise lock or a cylindrical lock, SecurityParts carries compatible parts across all major Von Duprin-compatible lock families.
