Athens, Rhodes, Sparta, and Omega levers all use shaped handles with profiles that vary along the shank. The Tubular lever maintains a consistent circular cross-section from the hub to the handle tip. The tactile surface on the 03-233-8TR wraps around the full circumference of the round handle, providing tactile safety feedback from any grip approach angle. When a facility uses Tubular levers as its established profile standard and specific inside button lever positions require the tactile designation, the 03-233-8TR maintains visual consistency at those positions.

The Tubular lever design uses the 03-042-RHO (Rhodes Rose) as its inside and outside rose, as confirmed in the official Schlage ALX Series Service Manual. The 03-042-RHO is the correct rose for all Schlage ND and ALX Series lever designs except the Omega. When ordering a complete Tubular Tactile Button Lever inside trim assembly, the 03-042-RHO rose must be ordered separately in the matching finish.
