Doors that require the 987 cylinder include thick hollow metal doors at 2-1/4 inch or greater construction, doors with significant face laminate or cladding material, and specialty assemblies where hardware stacking between the door face and the cylinder mounting point adds to the overall depth the cylinder must bridge.

When a 987 Series cylinder is used with an AR cam, the 008876-004 (5/8 inch) is the correct collar per the official Falcon collar selection table.
